Welcome to Lessons By Sandy!

Welcome to Lessons By Sandy!

My husband Kurt has been one of my staunchest supporters, and has encouraged me for years to start my own webpage. As someone who has always been more comfortable in the background, this was not even a thought on my radar. While I loved to create activities for my students and for other teachers, and would share with my team, I never really gave much thought that other people would want them too.

In 2012, I slowly started to put my activities on Teachers Pay Teachers, and was surprised to find that others DID like what I created and wanted to use it for their classrooms as well! This was a huge confidence builder, and with each new activity that I posted I became inspired…Maybe I could use my website, Lessons By Sandy, as a way to promote fun learning experiences at home as well as in the classroom!?

After many talks with friends and family, fellow teachers and librarians, Kurt and I began brainstorming ideas for Lessons By Sandy. We both believe that parents are a child’s most important teacher, but we understand that life can get busy and stressful. Our goal was to create a website that provided fun activities to share with your family or your classroom. We hope to build a community of parents, grandparents and educators dedicated to raising smart, creative children where we can help them do something small every day.

Kurt and I are both new to this, and we welcome your feedback. Send us your thoughts or join our Lessons By Sandy mailing list to keep in touch.  We’re glad you’re with us!
